These days listenign to Pal talk and reading some of the e-mails that i receive made me feel like i nothing about my language. is it only me? or are there a lot of new words popping out of no where. some times i think who ever is saying those words just makes it up. Words like Kumama, what does it mean? does any one have any clue? how do you come up with new words? is there a harari dictionary?

aqile it is true now a days people are coming up with new Harari language that we have never heard of before. Normally languages evolves from time to time and linguistices study the new word its origin, spelling, pronounciation and its proper use then they documente it. what we are experiancing now is individuals throw words and claim that is Harari language. If we get back to your question the word "Kum Aama" its meaning in English is "Millennium" and this word is a combine word "Kum" that is 1000 and Aama is year so it is 1000year.

this is very interesting, If I were a stay at home mom i would like to know what my title would be. I once heard some one say 'Gar Abayo" what ever that meant i did not like the sound of it. how about we call it " Gar Aay" that sound a little decent to me, of course that is if there isn't any other word for it. Gizman,

That is so funny. I have never heard of that word before, I wish people who are creating a Harari dictionary give me the answer. If there is no an exact word for it please let us come up with a suitable word for it. I think your contribution as a woman is highly valued. I don't want Harari men " Sum yetabkubenema" the name we dislike and changing it will be Hard.
